We are excited to announce next year's summer musical, "Children of Eden," July July 20-23, 27-30, 2017. "Children of Eden" is written by John Caird and lyrics with music by Stephen Schwartz ("Pippin," "Godspell," "Wicked.") This two act musical gives the audience an unique look at the first book of the Bible, Genesis. The show presents beautiful storytelling with Schwartz’s gorgeous songs supporting and furthering the stories. "Children of Eden" cast includes Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Noah and his family and many more familiar Biblical people. Go back thousands of years with us to visit these legendary characters and watch them firsthand.

Auditions for our final three main stage shows of the 2017 season have been announced. The Curious Savage will hold auditions at the Playhouse August 20 and 21 from 7pm-9pm. Auditions for A Christmas Carol and A Charlie Brown Christmas will be held September 22 from 7pm-9pm and September 23 from 4pm-9pm. Callbacks for the Christmas shows will be held September 24 from 3pm-6pm if needed.

Hershey Area Playhouse is a true Community Theater.  Our directors, producers, actors, and people behind the scenes are local residents.

We are always seeking ways to provide high quality entertainment for a very affordable price.  However our ticket prices do not cover all of our operating expenses and we depend on additional support from our friends and neighbors who understand the value of having a local community theater and the opportunities it brings.
