Meet the cast |

Adam Alexander (Charlie Brown from April 24 – 27)
Adam is currently a senior at Hershey High School with a prospective
major of Computer Engineering at Philadelphia's Drexel University. He
has been a part of the Playhouse since Into the Woods Junior last
summer, and is glad he was able to have another wonderful opportunity
with them. Since last summer, Adam has furthered himself musically
and technically, picking up jobs as a local DJ and as a Sound
Technician with Dutch Wonderland. Being Charlie Brown in this show
was a great experience, and Adam hopes to be able to work with the
Playhouse in the near future. |

Ashley Avenoso (Sally Brown)
This is Ashley’s second production with Hershey Area Playhouse. Previous theatre experience includes the role of The Baker’s Wife in the Playhouse’s production of Into the Woods Junior and the role of Grizabella in Hershey High School’s 2006 production of Cats. Ashley is a sophomore Music Business and Technology major and Vocal Performance minor at Millersville University. |

Katlyn Howes (Lucy Van Pelt)
Katlyn is really excited to be making her debut at Hershey Area Playhouse as Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown! Katlyn is a 20 year-old student at Elizabethtown College studying English Secondary Education and Theatre. Some of her favorite past roles include her performances at Elizabethtown College as Oldie Momma in Gint, by Romulus Linney, Hannah Jarvis in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia, and playing a tribe member and supreme in Hair - The American Tribal Love Rock Musical. She has also been involved in several short play festivals, competed for the Irene Ryan Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, and starred in several productions at Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, PA. She would like to thank her family and friends for making the trek to Hershey to see her play Lucy! She loves you all! |

Brydon H. Lidle, IV (Schroeder)
Brydon is incredibly thrilled to be spending another show with Hershey Area Playhouse. Currently, Brydon is a senior at Hershey High School and has plans to pursue Music Education at Mansfield University. Brydon has always enjoyed every second working with the Playhouse, whether it was on or off stage, and would like to thank his family for the love and support they have given him and the cast and crew of Charlie Brown for making this year’s show one that he will never forget. |

Eric Mansilla (Charlie Brown from May 1 – 4)
After having enjoyed many of the Playhouse’s productions from the audience, Eric appreciates his opportunity to be part of one. Eric is a senior at Hershey High School where he plays the flute in the school’s Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra as well as singing tenor in the schools Cantabile and After Eight choirs. He has also performed in a respectable number of school plays including The Crucible (Rev. Hale), The Outsiders (Darry Curtis), Beauty and the Beast (Maurice) and Romeo and Juliet (Friar Laurence). Outside of school, Eric takes tap and jazz classes at Company Dance. After a brief hiatus from performing onstage in favor of playing in the orchestra pit for West Side Story at Hershey, he is excited to be back as part of the cast for his second musical. He thanks his friends that brought him to the Playhouse as well as the friends he has made and wishes to dedicate his performance to all of those irrepressible optimists like “Charlie” that are a part of his life. |

Jarred Wagner (Linus Van Pelt)
Jarred is no stranger to the theatre. He has performed at ELCO High School and then, after graduating, the Genesius Theatre in Reading. He has previously performed with Hershey Area Playhouse in Our Town. Some of Jarred’s favorite characters that he has portrayed are Bob Cratchit (Christmas Carol), Col. Pickering (My Fair Lady) and Brandon (Rope). He has recently finished assistant directing Wizard of Oz for ELCO. Jarred would like to thank Mr. Brian Trupp, a friend and mentor. |

Caryn Williams (Snoopy)
This is Caryn’s first appearance on the Hershey Area Playhouse stage, and she is particularly excited to be portraying Snoopy! Her previous roles include Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man, and Yenta in Fiddler on the Roof. Caryn has enjoyed performing in other shows including HONK!, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Anything Goes. She got her start in singing and acting at a young age, when she and her siblings would sing and dance in her grandmother’s living room. She would like to thank Michele, Jeff, Dan, and Erin, as well as the entire cast and crew of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown for all of their hard work. Thanks also go out to Beauty, the family dog, for providing guidance and inspiration for this role! Most of all, she would like to thank husband, Ron, and children Evan and Arleen, for allowing her to come out and play. |

Jeff Cartwright (Director)
After 25 years, Dr. Cartwright retired from parish ministry in June 2007. He continues to remain in ministry as he connects the dramatic arts and ministry through RevDoc Productions. He has ‘developed’ a compilation script and continues to present a solo performance of The Gospel of Mark in local churches. Jeff is an Adjunct Professor in the Communication and Theatre Department of Millersville University, and in February 2007, directed The Foreigner for the University Theater. For Hershey Area Playhouse, Jeff directed the 2006 Summer Musical, Cinderella, as well as The Crucible and Forty Carats. His directing has also been seen at The Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg (LTM) and Stone Arch Players in Lewistown, PA. He has also been involved with shows at Oyster Mill Playhouse. At LTM, he experienced one of his highlights in theatre which was directing the musical Pippin. At the same theatre, he was Director for Jesus Christ Superstar and appeared as ‘Jesus’ in the original musical, Into the Desert. Most recently, he directed Charlie Brown at the First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Other highlights in theatre for Dr. Jeff include directing playing Owen Musser in The Foreigner and ‘Bo’ in Bus Stop. In 2001, He was commissioned by the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg to write and direct historical vignettes, presented at the banquet honoring the 175th anniversary of the seminary, (his alma mater!) In 2006, his Soul Mate, was one of the winners in the first Ten-Minute Play Writing Contest at Millersville University. |
