Our Dark Night Series Production introduces a Weekend of One Act Plays. Four one-act plays will be performed at the Playhouse August 18 & 19.
Shows include Call of the Revolution, by Leonid Andreyev and modified by Walter Wykes, directed by Eileen Daub. Written in the early 20th century, the play is about a couple coming to terms with their new lives as revolution has begun around them. It is a powerful and timeless piece that could take place as easily right now as it could a hundred years ago.
The Apple, written by Jimmy Brunelle and directed by Matthew Ford is a fast-paced crazy satire about the perceptions that people create and project upon art. The show is filled with a cast of unusual characters. Dinner With Mom, an original piece written and directed by Christine Koslosky, features a series of conversations over dinner.
Honestly, Kitty is an original piece written and directed by Nancy Laudermilich. Selected scenes will be performed from this play about the life of Catherine “Kitty” Hershey.
A Weekend of One Acts also includes the Illumanti in Drama Libre, by Alice Gerstenberg. This absurd fast-paced conversation is directed by Matt Ford.
